Oh wow, i haven't made a journal in a LOOOOOOONG time. Guess it's time to update of course since yesterday was my 18th B-day (F*CK YEAH, NOW I'AM AN ADULT!!).

As you may have noticed (not? *forever alone*), I've been somewhat dead on this account, save for my wall of Favorites i've accumulated during the little free time that i've been able to grasp hold of during Senior year. A lot has happened to me since i last uploaded anything:
1. I GOT ACCEPTED INTO MCAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Holy titties, this was the BEST thing that could've ever happened to me during my teenage years! All that dedication into my portfolio was well worth it,even if it did cost me two days of school to finish it. I even got invited to attend a 2 week animation program there for free! The fight isn't over yet though, i still need to finish Senior year and that's the most important semester of your high school career. If i want to be a permanent member of this school, i need to do my best on my daily homework and prepare myself for back-breaking tests ahead of time. Wish me luck.

2. I've been taking extra art classes at MCAD also in preperation for the animation course. One thing's for sure, I'm probably not going to go into a comic or realistic painting field. Our instructor was a comic artist named Joel Vollmer
[link] He's into the basics of american-styled comics and definatly knows how to critique what he sets his eyes on. It was a real page-turner for me just by learning what Joel had to teach us. We used caligraphy pens, lettering guides, comic canvases, and much more. Our final project consisted of doing a one-page autobiography and a 6-paged comic of anything from our original ideas, no already existing characters. That project itself killed my sanity halfway not to mention i had to leave to Florida the day it was assigned. I only managed to finish the outline, script, and characters before it was too late. What an embarresment! On the bright side, Joel praised my character designs and story pacing. Now i know what i'm good at finally. I was glad to have been taught by such a proffesional that prepares others like me for real business in the art world.

A word of advice to artists: If you claim to draw manga, it's not manga. You're not Japanese and thus don't live like one so you don't know what their culture is unless you truely were born there.
-Joel Vollmer
3. In order to create a nice journal length ( DAYUM, LOOK AT THAT TEXT! ), i'll finish off with telling you guys about my birthday. I went to a Japanese Hibachi restraunt during the evening where i feasted on BBQd raw squid, fried rice and steak combos out the wazoo, and fried ice cream with japanese soda!

Seriously, why do they expect us to eat SO much anyway, Is it because they think obese or american people have bigger stomachs?

Back home, i opened my gifts to find:
*A Magic: the Gathering deck building kit. Some of my friends introduced me to this game not long ago and i'am starting to collect them not only to play with but also to collect the art. I've seen some card illustrations here on DA and i was thrilled to learn that people can enter their art to the company and have them turned into cards if they're lucky. It's just too bad some of them go up for hefty prices.

* Candy, mostly Hershey's Cookies and Cream bars and Sour Patch Kids. I felt sick afterwards. :C
* MLP: FIM blind bags! I found a fluttershy and a shiny Rainbow Dash. I'm addicted to ponies now, forgive me!

* A 1 terrabyte flashdrive?!!!

Do you even KNOW how much gigabyte that's worth?! It's OVER 1,000!!!

At least i don't need to worry about losing my artwork anymore. :T
I won't bore you anymore. It's time i got back to my homework anyway. I'm getting ready for prom also so i don't know if i can upload anything at the moment until later next week to make up my deadness. Keep cool, my peeps! Adios! (...until next time )
